Individual Inner Peace Model
Many people share the dream of planetary peace and while it is a collective dream, it requires each individually to acquire a way of peaceful living in harmony with each part of the whole, fellow human beings and other parts of nature alike. Such a state of being or way of life may be acquired together within a personal relationship with The Creator or through an impersonal interaction with the Universal Value Field.
By the aid of System Dynamics, a systemic approach that looks at the relationships of the many parts involved within a system, a state of Inner Peace has been modelled as a first step towards a social peace propagation model.
It is important to note that inner peace is to be understood as a way of being peaceful and by no means to be confused with the mere absence of violence. Inner peace refers to a spiritual peace as it has been described by many ancient and modern text of wisdom.
The system dynamics approach facilitates a better understanding of how peace can propagate within communities and from one generation to the next, to understand the dynamics involved for the individual to attain inner peace, as well as how the collective may reach social harmony.
This study focuses on the attainment of individual inner peace and we present a model that allows us to explore relevant elements (the parts of the system), such as Actions of Kindness, spiritual practise, health, diet, exercise, insights and moments of wisdom, inspirations and the environment. The model also allows us to explore some of the dynamics between work, stress, spiritual practice and exercise and we can gain some insights on how to balance these activities in life.
We are convinced that the more people attain inner peace individually, and as a consequence human communities transform to be more peaceful via social interactions, people will contribute to a greater sense of social harmony and wellbeing. As whole communities begin to live more peaceful lives others will follow the example and a planetary peace propagation process may eventually catalyse planetary peace. The following system diagram illustrates the main feedback loops involved.
