International HRV Synchronization Study 2015
This study was conducted in February and March 2015, as part of a body of researchers in five (5) countries: The United States of America, United Kingdom, Lithuania, Saudi Arabia and New Zealand, led by the HeartMath Institute in California under the name, International Heart Rate Variability Study (IHRVS). In New Zealand at The Embassy of Peace in Whitianga, we measured Heart Rate Dynamics in a group of twenty two (22) participants who wore a FIRSTBEAT wireless Heart Rate Variability Recorder for a period of fifteen (15) days for twenty three hours a day, leaving one (1) hour a day for showers and individual care of the body. This study was organized in a set of daily activities that presumably would have different effects in both Heart Rate Variability and the Coherence Ratio. These activities mainly consisted of three (3) types of meditations and four (4) other kinds of activities per day.
In a sequence of papers we analyse the data obtained from the participants during this study and present the results derived from the analysis.
(1) Psychophysiological Coherence in Community Dynamics – A Comparative Analysis between Meditation and Other Activities
(2) Individual Psychophysiological Coherence induced by Meditative States can be compromised in Community Dynamics
(3) A Study on Potentially Beneficial Activities as Observed in Increased Values of Psychophysiological Coherence Measures: Towards an understanding of psychophysiological coherence and inner peace in human social dynamics

Below we present a movie that illustrates the coherence ratio (CR) dynamics of each of the 22 participants over the fifteen (15) day period. Every time a specific group activity or meditation was performed by the participants, this is highlighted in the top left corner of the movie. The time format is set to 24h and starts on the first day at 9:20 am. The table on the right hand side of the movie allows to identify each of the 22 participants of the study and their corresponding location in the grid of the movie. The image below provides a legend of the different components and how to identify and locate them in the movie.
